Why Learn Spanish in Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is one of the most culturally diverse islands of the Canaries. With its striking landscapes, the island is of almost otherworldly beauty. It is also the only island in the Canaries shaped by the artist and architect César Manrique. The people of Lanzarote, also called “conejeros,” are known for their friendliness and hospitality.

For your language skills, Lanzarote is the perfect place to practice. People from almost every Spanish-speaking country live on our island. So, you will have countless opportunities to practice Spanish!

Since 1993, Lanzarote has officially been part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This status highlights the island’s importance as a protected area and shields it from the negative impacts of mass tourism. Lanzarote is not only a dreamlike setting where international films and advertising campaigns are regularly produced, but also the place where the Spanish president has his summer residence.

Furthermore, the island is a hub for international sporting events – from regattas of the Spanish royal family to the world’s second-toughest Ironman. Visitors and athletes alike find ideal conditions here for numerous endurance sports such as paragliding, hang gliding, and sailing competitions. Unique underwater museums and Europe’s largest marine reserve are also located here. With an average annual temperature of 21 degrees, Lanzarote offers a mild climate all year round.
