Last month we enjoyed a wonderful trip to the magnificent Timanfaya National Park with our Bildungsurlaub students and now we’ll leave the story of just how it was, to their teacher, Irene …
At 2.00pm, on Monday, January 23rd the Spanish A2 and B1 groups called in to the Visitor and Interpretation Centre of the Timanfaya national park. This was part of their intensive Spanish course that both groups were attending through Bildungsurlaub (a German educational leave facility).
In the centre, we witnessed a volcanic simulation, visited the facilities and the permanent exhibition. This provided us with an excellent insight into the volcanological phenomenon of Timanfaya, explanations that allowed us a greater understanding for our later visit to the Park.
After, we visited the spectacular volcanic landscape of Timanfaya, one of the most interesting and characteristic locations in Lanzarote.
A bus tour lasts about 45 minutes and takes one on an expedition through the lava fields, the craters and the volcanic complex from inside. A unique and impressive experience.
After sharing our thoughts and opinions and some vocabulary comprehension activities, we returned to school. The students later wrote a factual account of their visit.
